Police search a section of Newark's South Ward for a crime scene after a gunshot victim entered one of the city's hospital on Saturday night.
At approximately 10:25 p.m., officials at University Hospital contacted police when a male victim entered the emergency room suffering a bullet wound in his foot.
Police say the victim reported being struck by gunfire near the intersection of South 17th Street and Madison Avenue.
The victim's injuries were not reported as life-threatening and the motive for the shooting is under investigation.
No arrests have been reported.
