Male Enters Newark Hospital Suffering Bullet Wounds

Police in Newark looking into the motive for a shooting that injured a male in the city’s South Ward this afternoon.

In Newark’s second shooting incident that occurred less than an hour apart today, police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the 40’s block of Johnson Avenue around 3:35 p.m.

Units arrived and found just under a dozen shell casings, but after officers canvassed the area, no victims were located.

Police say a further investigation into the shooting revealed that the suspect entered the hospital suffering bullet wounds in his leg.

Officials said the victim is in stable condition.

The suspect fled the scene and remain at-large.
