Police checked a neighborhood in Newark’s South Ward for a crime scene after bullets from a shot-fired incident connected on a male early Tuesday morning.
According to a preliminary investigation, offcials at University Hospital contacted police when a male victim entered the emergency department suffering bullet wounds at approximately 2:45 a.m.
Units arrived at the medical center and were told by the victim that while walking in the are of Sherman and Miller Street, gunfire rang out and struck him.
Police have not released the condition of the victim at this time. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
