Mail Truck Overturned in Union Crash, Two Hospitalized

Emergency crews responded to a serious crash in Union this afternoon that left a mail truck overturned and two people hospitalized.

According to preliminary information, the incident occurred around 3:17 p.m. near the intersection of Oakland Avenue and Long Terrace. 

Several 911 calls reported the collision, prompting a swift response from police, EMS, and fire units. 

 Upon arrival, first responders found the mail truck on its side on a pole after another vehicle crashed into it. 

Witnesses at the scene reported that the mail truck had been parked when the approaching vehicle came around a slight curve and collided with it.
 
Both the person inside the mail truck and the driver of the other vehicle were transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation. Their conditions have not been released at this time.

Police temporarily closed off part of the roadway to allow for cleanup and to conduct an investigation. 

Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the crash, and the investigation remains active and ongoing.

No additional injuries were reported.
