Machine Gun Attack Leaves One Injured in East Orange

A violent shooting attack that occurred on an East Orange street sent one person to the hospital this morning.

According to preliminary reports, several suspects, who were occupying a vehicle, fired rounds from, what's believed to be, a machine gun at a person on a street in East Orange.

Police rushed to the 50's block of South Clinton Street at approximately 10 a.m. after receiving reports of shots fired. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a male victim suffering injuries after being shot at that location.

The victim was transported to the hospital in an unknown condition.

Police are looking for a black Jeep with a reported NJ licenses plate number "M78-FPW."

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.

East Orange officials did not return requests for public information.
