Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrest of Joyce Gonzalez, 39, of Lodi, on a charge of child abuse.
According to authorities, on March 17, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victim’s Unit were contacted by the Division of Child Protection and Permanency and advised that a 10-year-old male child attended school with an injury to his shoulder.
An investigation was initiated by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victim’s Unit and the Lodi Police Department, that ultimately resulted in the arrest of Gonzalez in Paramus.
She was charged with one count of Child Abuse, in violation of N.J.S.A. 9:6-3, a 4th degree crime.
Gonzalez was released on a summons and appeared in Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court for a first appearance on March 18, 2017.
