Linden Police, Fire Department Get New Chaplain

The Linden Police and Fire Departments recently announced the appointment of the Reverend Miroslaw K. Krol as their new chaplain.

Reverend Krol is currently the pastor of St. Theresa’s Church in Linden.

He was born on August 18, 1970 in Gorlice, Poland and grew up in the small village of Stawisza. He attended high school in Gdansk, Poland before arriving to the United States and continued his college studies in Michigan where he attained a degree in philosophy in 1993.

He was ordained a deacon for the Archdiocese of Newark in 1996 after completing studies at the Immacualte Conception Seminary at Seton Hall University.

Before serving as pastor for St. Theresa’s, Father Krol served assignments as pastor for St. Elizabeth’s Parish in Wyckoff and Our Lady of Czestochowa in Harrison.

In 2013, St. Theresa’s Church was dedicated the Newark Archdiocese Shrine of Blessed John Paul II.

Father Krol is also an Honorary Canon of St. Florian and the Blessed John Paul II Chapter in Krakow, Poland. He was appointed to this position by Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz, the pope’s former personal secretary.

Father Krol has already attended and presided over several ceremonies where police officers have been newly-appointed or promoted.
