City police are investigating an armed robbery at a BP Station late Wednesday night.
Police responded to the BP Station, located at 1842 E. St. George Avenue, for a report of a robbery, Captain James Sarnicki said today.
Officers spoke to the two attendants, ages 22 and 24, who told them that a man knocked on the window of the booth and asked to purchase two cigars.
When they opened the door, the suspect forced his way into the booth and pulled a handgun from his waistband and demanded money, said Sarnicki.
The attendants handed over an undetermined amount of cash and a box of cigars, said the captain.
The suspect then fled on foot Adams Street.
The man was described as a dark-skinned male, in his 20’s, 5’7”, facial hair on his chin and neck. He was last seen wearing dark clothing and a mask partially covering his face.
Detectives will be reviewing video surveillance footage later today.
Investigation is ongoing.
