The Linden Fire Department held a ceremony to swear in 6 new firefighters along with the promotions of three.
Yesterday, Firefighter Brian Ferraro was elevated to the rank of Lieutenant, Lieutenant Kevin Konecny was elevated to the rank of Captain and Captain Lawrence Kolesa was elevated to the rank of Deputy Chief.
The Linden Fire Department welcomed the following six firefighters: Eric Turon, Ryan Yusko, Gregory Boyne, Richard Raudys, Daniel Sura and Robert Schrump.
In addition to family and friends, Linden officials were also present at the ceremony.
Linden Fire Chief Joseph Dooley welcomed the six new recruits stating “They are now part of the firefighting family, for some it’s a continuation that past family members have started and for others it’s a start of a new journey.”
The new recruits started their 5 month firefighter and EMT training the following day.
