Linden Authorities Investigate Police Car Crash

According to a statement released by police, at 11:42 a.m. today, a Linden Police Department marked unit was involved in a serious motor vehicle crash at the intersection of South Wood Ave & 19th Street.

Police say preliminary reports indicate that the Police vehicle, a 2018 Ford Explorer, collided with a 2017 Freightliner utility truck.

The truck then collided with a 2004 Ford F-150 pickup. Two parked vehicles were also involved in the crash, according to police.

The pickup truck driver and the Officer were taken to Newark University Hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Freightliner was transported to RWJBH Rahway Hospital with minor injuries.
