Passaic County authorities are investigating a shooting that has a man injured overnight in Paterson.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of East 28th Street and 17th Avenue at around 1:05 a.m.
Officers arrived at the scene and found a male victim suffering gunshot wounds at that location.
Police taped off the area after locating shell casings and other evidence according to reports. East 28th Street and 17th Avenue to Park Avenue was closed to traffic for the investigation.
The motive for the shooting has not been released by police.
