EMS rushed a male to Capital Regional Medical Center suffering severe injuries after a gunman fired shots that connected on the victim.
According to police, the incident happened at approximately 12:15 a.m. in the 200 block of Walnut Street, where residents reported several rounds of gunfire in the area.
Officers arrived at the scene, found the unconscious victim bleeding from his head after being sot at that location.
Police say the gunman ran from the scene immediately after the shooting.
The motive remains under investigation.
