Authorities are on the scene of a shooting that has a male victim suffering life threatening injuries in the city's South Ward at this time.
Reports of shots fired in the single-digit block of Schley Street shortly before 9:30 a.m. sent police to the scene where they found an unidentified man suffering injuries from apparent gunfire at that location.
The condition of the victim has only been reported as "life threatening" at this time.
City and county investigators set up a crime scene where they searched the area for evidence and a possible suspect. The 500 block of Hawthorne Avenue was also taped off for the investigation.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
