An early morning shooting that occurred in a Newark neighborhood left has one fighting for their life early Monday morning.
According to police, gunfire erupted in the vicinity of South 9th Street between 12th and 13th avenues at approximately 3 am where police arrived to find a severely injured male suffering gunshot wounds at that location.
EMS rushed the victim to University Hospital where the victim was last reported in 'grave' condition according to authorities.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation and the suspect remains at-large.
There were no other injuries reported.
