LHS Volleyball Team Hosts Pink Out Match in Honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Linden

The Linden High School girls volleyball team invites the community to its ‘Pink Out Match’ in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“We will be wearing pink to show our support for breast cancer awareness all while pushing to find a cure,” said head coach Marissa DelloRusso. “This event is meant to honor and remember those who have fallen victim to this disease, while coming together to raise funds for breast cancer research.”

All those attending are encouraged to wear pink to the event which will take place on October 30th at 4 p.m.

The event will feature a freshman match, followed by the JV match at 5:30 p.m. Following a recognition ceremony for breast-cancer survivors, Linden’s varsity team will play Elizabeth High School at 7 p.m.

Earlier this fall, the team sold pink shirts that said “Linden Volleyball: Serving Up a Cure.” All the money raised from the shirt sales and donations collected at the event will be donated to the Rutgers Cancer Institute.

Any cancer survivor who plans on attending should email DelloRusso ahead of time at mdellorusso@lindenps.org.
