EMS transported a male victim to University Hospital suffering injury from apparent gunfire late last night in the city.
Reports of shots fired sent police to the 80's block of 17th Ave. where arriving units found the victim suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg.
Police canvassed the area for a suspect and are investigating a motive for the shooting.
This is the second shooting in that immediate area in less than a week.
Newark Police are investigating.
