Late Night Gunfire Kills Man in Orange

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office are investigating a shooting that left a man dead overnight in Orange.

Police responded to multiple rounds of shots fire that rang out in the area of Scotland Road and Minton Place shortly before 10:30 p.m. where police officers canvassing the area found the male victim suffering gunshot wounds a short distance away at the White Castles restaurant according to reports. There are no reports that the shooting occurred at the restaurant.

EMS rushed the victim to University Hospital in Newark where doctors pronounced the unidentified man dead shortly after.

The victim is around the age of 25-years-old reports said.

Detectives set up a crime scene and are investigating the motive for the shooting.

There were no arrests reported.
