Late-Night Gunfire Erupts in Newark’s North Ward

Late Saturday night, Newark police responded to a shooting incident in the North Ward after a ShotSpotter alert notified them of gunfire.NinosOfficers rushed to the vicinity of 761 Broadway around 11 p.m. -near Halleck Street-  following reports of shots fired in the area.

Upon arrival, police found multiple shell casings, confirming that a shooting had indeed taken place.

A thorough search of the neighborhood was conducted, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Accoridng to initial reports, the discovery of the shell casings and the absence of any victims have led to an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.

The Newark Police Department is actively seeking information and witnesses to help identify those responsible for the gunfire.

Witnesses are urged to come forward with any details that could assist in resolving the case and ensuring the safety of the community.
