Newark authorities are investigating a late-night shooting that left behind evidence of gunfire and property damage but no reported victims.

According to information released by Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, police were dispatched at approximately 10:27 p.m.
Thursday, March 19, 2026, to the 600 block of Bergen Street following reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers located shell casings at the scene and confirmed that nearby property had been struck by gunfire.
Despite the damage, no victims were found in the area.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, and no suspect information has been released at this time.
The incident remains under active investigation.
