Lakehurst Man Sentenced to Prison For Drug Distribution

Lakehurst

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that on January 10, Peter Nickey, 32, of Lakehurst, was sentenced to eight years New Jersey State Prison by the Honorable Guy P. Ryan, J.S.C., a result of a guilty plea to Conspiracy to Possess Cocaine with Intent to Distribute. Nickey pled guilty purposes to the charge on September 15, 2019.

Officials say on November 25, 2018, officers from the Lakewood Township Police Department responded to a report of a motor vehicle stuck on the side of Route 88 in Lakewood Township.

When the officers arrived, they spoke with Nickey, who was the operator of the vehicle, and asked him for his driving credentials. Nickey told the officers that his identification was in a vest inside his vehicle.

When Nickey retrieved the vest, a large amount of Crack Cocaine fell on the ground; it appeared to be packaged for distribution according to officials.
