Authorities announced the arrest of Anthony Desai, 23, of Kearny, in connection with a shooting that occurred on Sunday, November 26th.
According to police, at approximately 3 a.m., police responded to shots fired call in the area of Orchard and Scott streets. A Hispanic man discharged a firearm at the intersection of Orchard and Scott streets following a quarrel.
Investigating detectives developed sufficient evidence to identify Anthony Desai as a suspect.
Police arrested Desai without incident and charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and Certain Persons Prohibited From Weapon Possession.
These charges are merely accusations. The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
