Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of an adult man Monday night in Keansburg, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced Tuesday.
According to officials, members of the Keansburg Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting in the 40 block of Carr Avenue at approximately 8:56 p.m.
When officers arrived, they located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The investigation is being conducted by detectives from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau and the Keansburg Police Department.
Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity or announced any arrests.
