Police in Newark are on the search for at least two teenagers who arrived at a neighborhood in the city and began to fire shots at each other Monday evening.
A ShotSpotter activation alerted police of gunfire in the vicinity of South 7th Street and 15th Avenue at around 6:35 p.m.
Police arrived at the scene and were told by witnesses that several young males fired over a half dozen shots at each other then fled the scene.
Officers canvassed the area and located about seven shell casings, but after they searched the area, no victims were found.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
