Juvenile Struck by Gunfire in Newark's Central Ward

Police are on the search for a suspect who shot a juvenile on Tuesday night in Newark's Central Ward.

According to a preliminary investigation, gunfire rang out in the vicinity of 123 Prince Street around 9:45 p.m.

When Newark Police officers arrived at the scene, they found a teenage boy suffering a bullet wound in his stomach at that location.

Police say the victim was transported to University Hospital and later listed in stable condition.

The motive for the shooting is under investigation and no suspects have been arrested at this time.
