Juvenile Arrested for Murder of Taxi Driver in Orange

Orange – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Orange Police Director Todd Warren announced today that a male juvenile, age 16, has been arrested in connection with the shooting murder of Jonas Larose, age 55, which occurred on November 30, 2016 on the 200 block of Snyder Street in the City of Orange.

He is currently being housed at the Essex County Juvenile Detention Center.

The 16 year old was charged with Murder, Felony Murder, Robbery, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose and Forgery.

Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of Detectives Quovella Spruill commended the members of the Homicide Task Force, Lt. Thomas Kelly, Det. Poggi, Det. Jennifer Horn, Det. Manago and Det. Olmo for their hard work and efforts.

These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
