A juvenile was among two victims caught in a hail of gunfire in Newark' West Ward Wednesday/.
The late-night shooting happened around 11:25 p.m. in the 200 block of Georgia King Village.
Police said a ShotSpotter device activated, alerting police of multiple rounds of gunfire at that location.
When police arrived at the scene, they found a juvenile around 16-years-old suffering gunshot wounds. According to police, the boy was transported the short distance to University Hospital for treatment and is stable.
Police say while officers and detectives sealed the area after holding back an unruly crowd to begin their investigation, officials at University Hospital notified police officials that a second person entered the hospital suffering bullet wounds.
Police believe the hospital walk-in gunshot victim suffered his injuries at the Georgia King Village shooting scene.
The motive for the attack is under investigation and the suspect is at large.
