Three separate shootings that happened overnight around the city left about three people injured.
Police responded to the area of Ocean Ave. and Forest Street after receiving several 911 calls reporting shots fired. Several police units arrived to the scene to find a male victim suffering an apparent gunshot wound.
EMS transported the victim to Jersey Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Hospital officials contacted police a short time later when a second victim arrived to the hospital by private vehicle suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
The victim told officials that he was shot on Ocean Ave. and Forrest Street a short time before arriving at the hospital.
Police are looking for a a black male who was last seen fleeing the area with a mask on. A crime scene was also established at Martin Luther King and Kearny.
Shortly before 1 a.m., Jersey City Medical Center officials contacted authorities when a male victim suffering a gunshot wound to the back walked into the hospital. The conscious and alert victim told authorities that he was shot in the vicinity of West Side Ave. and Pollock Ave.
Police arrived to the area where they immediately setup a crime scene. Authorities found several vehicles struck by gunfire but there were no other victims located.
Reports of shots fired sent police to the 90's block of Bostick Ave. shortly before 2.m. where they began a search for two male suspects who were wearing white masks when they fired several round from a gun, striking a male victim at that location.
The victim suffering a gunshot wound to the leg, was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center where he was expected to survive.
All of the shootings are being investigated by the Jersey City Police Department.
