Jersey City Shooting Injures 17-Year-Old in the Foot

Police are investigating an early morning shooting that injured a 17-year-old teen in the foot while riding in a car early this morning.

Police were called to the area of Bergen and Bentley avenues around 2:30 a.m. for a report of shots fired. Upon initial search of the area, several shell casing were recovered but no victims.

Shortly after, police responded to Jersey City Medical Center-Barnabas Health after the 17-year-old victim transported himself to the hospital. 

According to the victim, him ad friends were riding around when someone shot at their car. The victim and friends fled the scene after the shooting and brought himself to the hospital. 

The victim could not provide a description of the vehicle or the shooter.

The shooting remains is under investigation.
