Gunfire erupted Sunday afternoon in Jersey City leaving a 15-year-old boy in critical condition, officials said.
According to city spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill, police responded to responded to Jersey City Medical Center after the teen - suffering a gunshot wound to the chest - was transported by friends in a private car at about 1 p.m.
Police believe the teen was shot near Arlington Park, no exact location has been found at this time.
The teen is currently in critical condition at the hospital.
The shooting remains under investigation, according to authorities.
