Jersey City Police Search for Overnight Shooting Suspect; Two Injured

Police recovered just under a dozen shell casings at the scene of a shooting that caused injuries to two victims in Jersey City overnight.

Police searched for the suspect/s responsible for the shots fired incident that rang out in the vicinity of Martin Luther King Drive and Grant Avenue at approximately 11:45 p.m.

Units arriving at the scene found a victim severely injured after suffering a gunshot wound to the facial area at that location.

EMS rushed the victim to Jersey City Medical Center where doctors began treatment according to police.

Police found a second victim suffering a gunshot wound to the stomach in the 100 block of Wilkerson Avenue and believe that person sustained their injury at the Martin Luther King Drive shooting scene. Police say his injuries were considered non-life threatening.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. There were no arrests reported.
