The Jersey City Police Department is investigating a non-fatal shooting incident that occurred in a section of the city overnight.
Jersey City Police officials said on Sunday at approximately 2:09 a.m., an unidentified man was found near the intersection of Carteret and Randolph avenues suffering gunshot wounds in his leg.
Police say the residents called police when they heard gunfire in the neighborhood then saw the victim bleeding.
The motive for the shooting has not been determined at this time.
