Police in Jersey City took a male into custody and charged him with illegal possession of a weapon on Saturday night.
According to preliminary reports, police were notified of a suspicious person possibly armed with a gun on Rose Avenue just before 9:55 p.m.
Officers arrived and found the suspects and after an investigation, police say they located a loaded weapon on the suspect.
The suspect was transported to the Hudson County Jail for processing.
There were no further incidents, according to reports.
