Jersey City Man Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run, Dies

A city man critically injured in what authorities described as a hit and run last year has died.

According to family and friends, 65-year-old Staney Mis, of Jersey City, died today at a hospital in Wayne.

According to the investigation, Mis appears to have been walking on the sidewalk in the area of Lincoln Park with Lincoln Park West when he was struck by a GMC Envoy, sometime around 11:30 a.m.

That day, police identified the vehicle and owner with the assistance of CCTV footage.

The driver, identified as 19-year-old Ansumana Wally, surrendered that night.

Wally was initially charged with leaving the scene of an accident with serious injuries. However, charges are expected to be upgraded.

Both men were released after posting bail.
