Police continue to search for a gunman who shot and injured an Elizabeth man at his home Thursday night.
On Thursday, September 4, Elizabeth Police responded to the 600 block of Jefferson Avenue on a report of a man shot at approximately 8:50 p.m.
Upon arrival police discovered a 35-year-old victim who was struck three times by gunfire.
The victim told the officers he heard someone knocking on his living room window and when opened his front door he was confronted by an unknown male assailant in white clothing who was armed with a handgun.
A tussle ensued and the victim was shot.
The victim was shot once in his left thigh and twice in the left shoulder.
He was transported to University Hospital in Newark where he was reported to be in stable condition.
