Police in Toms River are investigating s shooting that sent one person to the hospital overnight in Toms River.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the Silverton area of Toms River before 10:30 p.m to investigate reports of shots fired at that location.
Upon arrival, one person was found injured after suffering a gunshot wound reports said.
The victim was transported to an area hospital in an unknown condition.
The shooting remains under investigation. There were no immediate reports of arrests or suspects sought.
