Mountainside police are investigating a car crash that sent victims to the hospital on a roadway in the Borough on Sunday morning.
According to preliminary information, at approximately 12:45 a.m., police officers responded to reports of a crash with injuries in the eastbound lanes of Route 22 near New Providence Road.
Units arrived at the scene and found a car that somehow left the roadway and struck a pole.
Police say two victims were transported to University Hospital in Newark suffering unspecified injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation and no other cars were involved.
Police closed one lane for the investigation and cleanup.
