There is an active and ongoing investigation into a shots-fired incident that had bullets connect on a male in Newark's South Ward on Monday evening.
According to preliminary reports, police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of 52 Hobson Street at around 8:35 p.m.
Units arrived and found the victim suffering bullet wounds at that location.
The victim was transported to University Hospital in for treatment. Their condition has not been released at this time.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
