Injuries Reported in Fully Involved House Fire in Orange

A firefighter was transported to St. Barnabus Burn Center in Livingston after he suffered minor burns during a raging fire that ignited a house in Orange early Thursday morning.

Fire ripped through a house located in the 30's block of Hillyer Street at approximately 3:10 a.m. sending firefighters to the scene where they found a large wood-framed residence fully involved in flames at that location.

Fire officials activated a second alarm then evacuated the structure as intense flames tore through the upper-level windows and the roof of the house.

The firefighter’s injuries were not immediately reported as life-threatening.

As of 4:45 a.m., firefighters were still battling heavy fire coming from the structure.

The official cause of the fire remains under investigation.
