A male victim was rushed to University Hospital suffering injuries after gunfire rang out in a section of Newark Friday.
The late evening shooting happened around 11:15 p.m. in the vicinity of 191 South 9th Street.
Police said a gunman arrived in the area and began firing shots at unknown targets before fleeing the scene.
Officers arrived at the scene found multiple shell casings and other evidence.
The victim's condition was only reported as stable at this time and the motive for the shooting is under investigation.
