Image Shows Final Minutes of "Uggie's" Life as Essex Authorities Press to Find His Killer

Newark – Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura’s Crime Stoppers Program has agreed to offer up to $20,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the murder of Eric “Uggie’’ Bowens, 44, of Newark.

A reward for $10,000 has previously been offered.

Bowens was found in the 200 block of Bergen Street in Newark on Monday, Nov. 7 suffering from a gunshot wound at approximately 10:57 p.m.

He was pronounced dead at 11:15 p.m. November 7th was his 44th birthday.

Authorities said the above image is a photo of Bowens that was taken on November 7, shortly before he was killed.
