Jones was sought by the NYPD as a suspect in a shocking subway shoving incident that occurred just a day earlier, on October 18, 2023, resulting in severe injuries to a 30-year-old woman.

Her identity has not been disclosed.

The incident sent shockwaves through New York City as the victim was viciously pushed into the path of an oncoming E train.

This random and horrifying attack has left authorities in both cities on high alert, desperately seeking answers to this senseless act.

Eyewitnesses at the scene recounted that the alleged assailant, Mr. Sabir Jones, a 39-year-old homeless individual from New Jersey, was observed engaged in a disturbing conversation with himself just moments before the unprovoked assault took place.

Police said Jones has since been detained by Newark Police and subsequently transferred into the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.

The rapid response by Newark law enforcement highlights their commitment to addressing incidents that cross state lines and cooperating with other agencies in the interest of public safety.

The victim, in this case, is currently recovering from severe injuries sustained during the subway shoving incident.

Authorities are working diligently to ensure that justice is served and that incidents of this nature are thoroughly investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
