Hit-and-Run in Elizabeth: Search for Driver After Pedestrian Severely Injured

Elizabeth Police are searching for a driver involved in a hit-and-run that left a pedestrian with severe injuries.

At around 3:45 p.m., Elizabeth police were called to the intersection of Newark Avenue and Fairmont Avenue following reports of an injured individual.AdOn arrival, they found a severely injured person on the ground. The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, was swiftly transported to University Hospital in Newark and is reported to be in critical condition, as confirmed by Elizabeth City officials.

Police have initiated a thorough accident investigation at the scene to determine the cause of the incident.

Early indications suggest that a maroon-colored vehicle is responsible, having fled the scene immediately after striking the pedestrian.

Authorities are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation and help bring the drive to justice.
