Emergency responders rushed to the scene of an incident where a tree fell on top of a car trapping the driver inside this afternoon.
It happened at approximately 1:25 p.m. in the vicinity of Rutgers and Main streets where rescue crews arrived to find a large tree on top of a car with wires down.
The driver of the car remained in the vehicle after reportedly seeing wires surround the vehicle.
PSEG crews were called to the scene to shut off power before firefighters moved in to extricate the driver.
Officials believe that heavy rains that passed through the area caused the tree to fall.
There were no severe injuries reported.
