Middlesex County officials are looking into the motive behind a shooting that severely injured a person in New Brunswick Sunday morning.
Officials say at approximately 2 a.m., gunfire rang out at a location on Fernwood Court, prompting a police investigation.
Upon arrival, officers found the unidentified, unconscious and unresponsive person suffering gunshot wounds.
The victim was rushed to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in life threatening condition while police and detective searched the area for a crime scene.
Police reported no immediate arrests in the shooting.
