Police in Paterson are looking for a gunman who fired multiple rounds of bullets in a neighborhood that struck and injured a person Friday night.
The late-night incident happened around 10 p.m. near 43 North 9th Street.
A ShotSpotter device activated and detected over 15 rounds of gunfire in the community prompting police to the scene to investigate.
Upon arrival, officers found multiple shell casings, but no victims were located during their search.
While cops canvassed the area, officials at St. Joseph's Hospital notified authorities when a male entered the emergency room suffering bullet wounds.
The victim suffered non-fatal injuries and the suspect remains at large.
No other injuries were reported.
