There is an active investigation underway into a shooting that injured a male in Newark during the overnight hours.
According to preliminary reports, at approximately 2:27 a.m., officials at Beth Israel Hospital contacted police when a male victim entered the emergency room suffering gunshot injuries.
Police say they are searching for the location of the shooting and has had gunfire rang out in the North Ward before the victim entered the hospital.
The condition of the victim has been reported as stable at this time.
