Gunshot Victim Dropped Off at Hackensack Hospital, Says He Was Shot in Paterson

Authorities in Passaic and Bergen counties are investigating an overnight shooting that left one person injured in Paterson early Saturday morning.

According to preliminary information, officials at Hackensack University Medical Center notified police around 4:15 a.m. after an unidentified person entered the emergency room suffering from gunshot wounds. 
 

The victim had been dropped off by a private vehicle.

 

When officers interviewed the individual, the victim reported that the shooting occurred near or around the 412 Lounge in Paterson. 
 

Hackensack Police secured the hospital crime scene to assist Paterson officers and temporarily rerouted incoming EMS traffic to alternate entrances.

 

The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office has been notified and will lead the investigation into the shooting.

As of early Saturday morning, the victim’s injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. 

No arrests have been reported, and the motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
