One person suffered serious injuries after gunfire erupted in a section of Jersey City Saturday night.
According to a preliminary investigation, police responded to reports of a person shot inside a liquor store in the 600 block of Ocean Avenue around 9:37 p.m.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim, who told them that while sitting inside a vehicle, a gunman fired multiple shots into the car.
The victim managed to get out of the car and enter the store, where employees reportedly dialed 911.
Police found the car near 645 Ocean Avenue, which was struck by gunfire.
The victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Centre for treatment while police investigated the motive for the attack.
No other injuries were reported and the suspect remains at large.
