Police in Newark are looking for a gunman who opened fire on a male victim in the city's South Ward this afternoon.
The broad-daylight shooting happened around 1:15 p.m. near the intersection of Clinton and Hillside avenues.
An armed man approached the victim and began to fire in his direction before fleeing the scene.
The victim was transported to University Hospital in an unknown condition.
Police taped off the intersection while detectives searched for evidence. No other injuries were reported.
