Police in Elizabeth are on the search for a suspect who pulled a gun and opened fire on a person at a location in the city early Saturday morning.
According to preliminary reports, police responded to the vicinity of 750 Trumbull Street after receiving information of a person shot at that location.
Units arrived at the scene and found the victim suffering a gunshot wound according to reports.
The unidentified victim was transported to University Hospital in Newark for treatment of serious injuries.
Police are attempting to determine if the victim's car was stolen after the shooting.
The investigation is in its early stages and is active and ongoing.
